NO That is something you need to teach your children. Have them carry a card at all times they can show whomever thinks they have the right to question children without a parent being there. This includes police,DHS,CPS, or just plain anyone. They card should read,
"Mr. or Mrs. Governmnet, or whomever. I will not answer any questions unless my parents are present, Please do intimidate me, I'm requesting that you call my parents immeadiatly", ( PROVIDE Phone #)
Many knowledgable parents have there children carry this card. laminated on their person at all times. I can provide further information and various websites depending on how deep you would like to get into issue. Good Luck to you. These are our Children, they have rights just as we do.

Children Severs?? Are you meaning Children's Services or Social Service??
HHMMM, states may vary. But if someone has reported abuse, it is best they speak to the child without the parents being warned in advance. However, you should have the right to any documents concerning the questioning once the "investigation" (if there is one) is closed.

Servers meaning their childcare providers?
if so, most likely yes. if they are concerned about the well fair of the child they may ask them questions to see what is going on at home.
the emotional well being is just as important as the physical well being of a child.
if you are uncomfortable with the questions they asked set up a meeting to discuss your feelings. i am sure they will be able to explain what the situation was. many times things can be taken out of context as well.
keep an open line of communication and let them know your concerns and i am sure you'll all work things out. remember, you guys have the same goal - a happy, healthy child.
take care,
SD

Obviously you are the child in this case. You meant to say "does children's services have the right to ask your child questions without you knowing about it?"
The answer is no. The parent has the right to know children's services is going to speak with them.

I would not let Sears question my children like that. You may want to start shopping at Wal-Mart instead.

Hello =)
In most states......absolutely.....
Generally speaking, they have the right to do as they please..and you, as a parent are without rights.....
Accept it, and work with them within that context, in order to keep your child......
Namaste, and Happy New Year,

If you are talking about DHS, CPS, etc. and the child has been taken into their care, then I believe it is lawful.

Yes. The "authorities" can do whatever they darn well please. Thanks to all the chicken littles and the politicians who think you and I shouldn't have any rights. Its to help fight terrorism so who's gonna speak out about that?
