Lemon juice is for lightening your hair slowly and will make it nice & shiny.
My mother used white vinegar & water for rinsing our hair & I still use it . It is a really good conditioner and also lightens the hair. (especially great for natural blondes)

no i dont think its bad... my friend uses it.. its a natural highlighter ... and it really works... but make sure u put it on evenly....... neway i looked on the net and found this for you....
'Lemon juice - All products dry out your hair (if you are trying to bleach your hair). So, no matter what, you will need a good conditioner. Some people say that lemon juice doesn't work. That is either because they don't use enough, don't give it enough time, or they want instant results. Lemon juice does highlight your hair, but it is gradual. Over time you will see more blond, but it isn't instantly blond. I prefer Sun In. You aren't supposed to use it everyday. I use it about once every week to week and a half. After you get your hair as blond as you want, you only have to use it on your roots. You can use just a blow dryer when you use Sun In, so you can use it during the winter.'... good luck!

Your hair will not fall out or change colour if you put lemon juice into your hair, unless you just dyed it.
However, the acid contained in the juice is aggressive, as well as bleaching products are, no matter what.
There´s nothing wrong with pressing the juice out of one lemon and mixing it with 250ml of water. Put it into a bottle and spray onto your hair when it´s towel-dry. Lemon juice however only works well if your hair is natural blonde or light brunette, with other hair colours it doesn´t make sense.
If you want to stick to natural ingredients to add more shine, you can use cold coffee for brown or black hair or tea made from laurel leaves (don´t drink that!!!!) for a reddish shine.
By the way: use cold camomile tea to rinse your hair after you´ve finished washing it. This way it lightens up slightly (again, if you´re blonde or brunette) and it´s not damaging your hair at all! Better than the lemon juice... ;)

You can put pure lemon juice on you hair and then use the heat from your blow dryer. It won't make it fall out, but it will make it kind of dry. If you have very dark hair then it may give it an orangy tint. Sometimes it goes really yellow. It depends on what color you are. You could also take a bottle of hydrogen peroxide(like you use on cuts and scrapes) and pour it on your hair. It will have a temporary lightening effect. It will also make your hair a little dry, but it is completely safe as long as your hair hasn't been color treated or permed.

It is supposed to lighten your hair if you put the lemon juice in your hair and then sit in the sun. It never worked for me, plus it really dries your hair out.

The ignorant answers I see about what people put on their hair to color it...
If you want to color your hair, use real haircolor or go get it done.
Sun-in is BS unless you like orange or canary yellow, or are a natural blonde to begin with. Lemon juice won't do anything except make you hair brittle full strength, because it is astringent. You can add some to conditioner to increase detangling or dilute with water and rinse your hair with it to increase shine.
It will not make your hair fall out.

No, it shouldn't turn hour hair orange or cause it to fall out. What it will do is when used as a rince after shampooing, make it squeeky clean. If you put it on and don't rince it out, it might lighten it up, but not as much as bleach. Have a happy day and beautiful hair.

Lemon juice will not harm your hair. It will merely lighten it more in the sun.
