ps3 and HDMI help?

I have a 32 inch JVC AV32S575 HDTV

It has HDMI capabilities and once I have both the HDMI cable and normal cables it just goes back to the normal screen after 30seconds.

Have you tried just connecting the HDMI and not the "normal" cables? There may also be a problem with your HDMI cord; you might want to consider exchanging it.
