Duchess potatoes and asparagus or steamed veggies (cauli/broc/corn/carrots)
Duchess Potatoes
2 cups firm mashed/riced potatoes
3 egg yolks
3 tbsp butter
2 tbsp heavy cream
Salt, pepper, nutmeg
1/2 cup grated Swiss cheese
Warm the mashed potatoes, if necessary. Stir in the egg yolks, one by one, then the butter, cream and seasonings to taste.
While still warm, pipe with large star tip onto buttered and floured baking sheets. Sprinkle lightly with cheese. Set aside. Half an hour before serving brown lightly in a 400 degree oven.
Good Luck and Happy Holidays

Corn on the cob. Potato salad. Biscuits or rolls. Fresh peas. Carrots. And pounds of butter for the Lobstah (the way it's spelled here in Maine.)

Personally if I were cooking for friends.. I would not try a dish I was not experienced with. Something tried and true.
Not lobster per your other post.

Hello =)
New England Style -- French Fries and Cole Slaw....Maybe some popovers.
Elsewhere.....cream of potato soup, Pasta with alfredo sauce. Any sort of buttered veggie..... And some good, sturdy bread....
