Council tax is usually over 10 months, the first payment is usually slightly different by a few pence so the other 9 payments are equal eg. if the total bill is £1001 the first payment would be £101 followed by 9 payments of £100.

This is how the East Riding of Yorkshire Council does it.

It does tend to vary with the council concerned, but when you pay by ten, they work it out so that there are nine "handy" amounts (i.e. not complicated by an odd number of pence) and the First payment accounts for the rest. I wouldn't like to guess how YOUR council have come to the system you're on - unless you've been under-charged in previous years and they're spreading the load for you.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

no it's no always. However, surley, being in band f means that you're in a well-established area with a decent job............ask your butler or accountant..................

(in jest) lol No, my payments we're always equal but you can get council to do this for you

good luck, happy new year

usually they divide it by ten and you usually get nine payment sof one amount, and the tenth which collects up the loose pennies that cannot be divided.
But if it adds up then I wouldn't argue with it.
