If you use a gentle highlighter, it should not affect it too badly. Your hair in the highlighted areas will actually be a little more manageable (i.e. straightening irons and such) due to the slight damage done. However, it is only until you process hair that has already been processed before will it start to break off...(not fall out)....be sure to use a deep conditioner once you highlight it! Now if you actually dye it with a toner, it is in a way good for your hair. They put nutrients in the toner that adds to your hair, not strips it. Good luck!!

You should go to a professional place to get it done insetad of wasting 10 bucks on store bought stuff becasue then you definatley could end up with no hair later on. When you choose to get your hair done by professinaley you also need to save up a little money for some good shampoo to make yous hair healthier and will not fall out. I am 13 and i dye my hair constantley and wonder about if my hair is going to fall out. And guess what? Nothing has happened and it won't becasue i use Paul Mitchell Hair Care Products. Or the Hair Dye protector. Also the Tea Tree Shampoo keeps your hair look great sleek and shine. So good luck with your hair. ANd hopw you family and friends will like it!

What ever you do follow the directions for a pre-test before using.
People never know what they might be allergic to.
Usually you have to wait 24 hours after testing just to be positive.
In most case everything is fine.
Pick good colors you like and have fun!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

save up your money and go to a professional beautician or to a beauty school and get it done if you don't have someone who is familiar with doing that type of thing.
if something goes wrong, you may have to endure a lot of ridicule in school. better to be safe than sorry.

professionals shouldn't let this happen, but while at the salon, chat to them about good products to use to care for the streaks,
