Mirrors are not good for taking self photos because it reverses your features (your face is not the same on both sides, you know); and a flash will always show up in a mirror photo.

It is best to buy an inexpensive tripod or sit the camera on a flat surface and set your camera's delay button so you can have time to move into the photo. Look through the camera and line up where you will be for the shot and get in the photo before the timer goes off. Another way is to hold the camera at arm's length and shoot your self, just remember to hold the camera higher than your face so it is not shooting the picture up your chin....it distorts your image.

A digital camera works best because you can do lots of retakes till you get it like you want it.

many stuff can do. a million.even if it truly is a digital camera with equipped in flash, redirect the basic with a white thick paper stick on the aspect of the flash to a white wall or thermocol piece. so that you receives illuminated with the flash basic pondered from thw wall or any component else. be particular the reflect will be VERY sparkling. you may sparkling it with a moist & then dry information paper is way less stressful. 2. even if it truly is a SLR digital camera or attachable flash, you may leap the flash someplace like I suggested above. 3.take the reflect outdoors and take your snap.in case you extremely favor to get a interior lower back floor, manage the historic past like that outdoors. 4. restore your digital camera someplace,on a tripod or restore with clothing and pillows.Be at a brighter position on your room and element and connect the digital camera there, use the self timer to take a %. 5.and many different techniques....if you're actually not satisfied in this answer ....merely make me a mail

Take the picture while on an angle. If you look directly into the mirror and take the picture, the flash reflects straight back to you. Try a 25 degree angle, you will still see a bit of flash, but the majority of it will reflect back into the room, not directly at you, but will still provide enough light for the picture.

Either take it at an angle so the camera isn't in the picture, or perhaps set the camera somewhere and use a self-timer if your camera has one.
Otherwise use additional lighting without the flash.

well...you must stop using the flash. If is too dark ..add some external lights...just forget about that flash ;-) .

The flash will always show. Either use the self timer or go to the harware store and get some cheap clip on lights.

to make the mirror pic brighter, i suggest you take the picture in a room with fluorescent lighting. if you don't have that. then just turn on all the lights.

I'll assume that you're not as vain as the question suggests! Your best chance is to get someone else to take it (unless you're striking a 'personal' pose) or you could set your camera to auto timer as most modern cameras have this function.
