I met him online, and only talked on msn. Never met in person or spoke on the phone. I havent known him too long. The first thing he tells me is about his cancer when he was younger and now hes in remission.
He is sweet, but, because Ive had bad experiences with people online, it makes me wonder, how sincere and honest is this guy being?
Does he go on about his cancer, now he is in remission, for me to feel sorry for him? and he says sweet things about how nice and sweet I am, and doesnt know me. Am I being to skeptical?

Sounds suspicious, but hmmm . . . I think you should wait and see. Maybe he doesn't get many dates after he mentions his cancer. I mean, I don't think many people want to date someone who is recovering from cancer! It could be for pity, but if it is he's pretty stupid. The "amazing woman" comment might be sincere, or it might be to reel you in. There's no way to tell from only this. Just be careful. Good luck!

Well the fact that you are even questioning this proves that you are smart and you have some gut instincts.
You never know who people REALLY are online, despite what he is telling you , he could be preying on the fact that you are a nice person, that cares about people. At any rate he doesnt know you and for him to be so affectionate so soon, with a complete stranger should and has in your case raised a RED FLAG.
I make it a point never to add anyone to my IM that I dont know. To many weordo-s out in this world.
I would stop talking to him if I were you, but looks like your smart enough to use your head and know that something isnt right.
Good Luck!

it all depends on how you type to each other you don't have to meet the person to know what type of personality he has he does sounds sweet but keep your guard up untill you get a chance to meet him or talk to him on the phone but typing is just words on a screen and are for ever with you in your mind and your heart so cancer is not some thing someone should lie about and he does keep brining it up yah he wants you to feel sorry for him and to a point you should but there is a limit on makeing some one feel bad so don't let him go over the limit yah feel sorry but it is not the end of the world he has made a new friend so he should be happy and good luck!!!!!

No, does not sound like you are being to skeptical as most of the time the people you meet on the internet are certainly less than 100% honest and to throw out a vague complement about being "amazing" certainly sounds sort of scamish.
Take anything anyone you meet over the internet with a grain a salt and not as the Gospel of who they are.
If you feel this man has qualities you like in him other than the "Florence Nightingale" syndrome you may feel because of his alleged cancer or passing vague compliments as a better barometer as to if you would like to know him better. Don't fall for misleading traps; remember, that is how serial killer Ted Bundy got women to trust him before he raped and/or murdered them.

For someone who chooses to interact socially on the Internet yes you are being skeptical. All you have is trust and the belief that the other person is being genuine when you engage in social interaction on the Internet. Studies have been done and people actually don't' have to say a word to be considered the best conversationalist. If the other person perceives that they are being listened to and validated then I'm sure he means what he's telling you. Try meeting some people in person though. you'll have more fun! '-)

It sounds like both of you are looking for the 'perfect' person. Unfortunately there is no such thing. Recognise that a lot of people can become infatuatied fairly easily, and it's pretty easy to act perfect in cyberspace. Don't let him make this out to be something its not. There's a big difference between a cyber friend and a life partner. Honestly, I wish you all the luck in the world, but remember to love yourself first and don't be taken for a ride...

You are being fed a line by a perv. He has never met you, doesn't know you. How does he know you are amazing?
The line about cancer is just spin to create some sympathy and empathy from you. Exploiting one of your good qualities.
How do you know he is sweet by just exchanging emails? you do not know anything about him.
Please be careful. You are too naive. But very sweet. Good luck.

how long have you been talking to this guy?? does he live close to you?? do you know for sure he is who he says he is??
Yes you should be very skeptical about him and his sweet talk..
I have met several very special people online that i know are real but then again I have also had my run ins with liars and scammers and downright scum.. so yes be very skeptical of him..

I have talked to many men on line and one clue i get that they are looking to scam you out of money is when they talk to sweet to soon. Also their location is a clue. If they live way to far away from you then most times it is a line.. called "pick up line" they are feeding you.

He is sincere since you are caring and making him comfortable. But what would be your opinion if you see him in blood and flesh. Try exchanging photographs and then make an opinion.
