I was driving down I-5 in Northern CA and I saw an SUV type vehicle with a light bar that had all red lights on top. They had someone pulled over and out of their car on the side of the road. Other than the some fire departments (which usually have at least some white lights, and wouldn't be pulling people over) I have never seen a light bar, kind of like the CHP's with all red lights.

The new light bars with led lights are programmable. You can set the colors(red, white, blue, orange) the flashing order, pattern of the lights, etc.

Many light bars vary due to each department, either by city, county, state and federal emergency vehicles. There are some many different agences out there, and don't forget the volunteer fire dept. units.
