Look at how the church people dance around this one. Their religion is nothing like the religion Jesus had, yet they are pretty quick to make excuses for him.
As for your question, he was never happy about not being of the tribe of Levi -- yet he never told anyone to ignore the rituals of the temple, and in some cases reminded people of their temple requirements, because it is fundamental in the Old Testament and could not be ignored.
(Jesus never would have thought of attempting to abolish ANYTHING in the Old Testament, and never claimed to.)
Certainly he was full aware that, not being of the tribe of Levi, he could not make sacrifices unless a Levite priest was officiating.
Read the Book of Leviticus, all you church people.

King David was not of the tribe of Levi, either. No priest would DREAM of sitting in the L-RD's presence, yet 1 Chronicles 17:16 clearly says he sat in the L-RD's presence. According to the Levitical priesthood, David should not have access to G-d. Yet David brought up the ark of the covenant; something only the Levites could do.
According to the Mosaic Law, the duties of the Levites could not be altered, yet in 1 Chronicles 23:24-32, we see King David do exactly that!
Every rule has the exception, my good man.

I'm not Christian, but I believe the flaw in your nicely thought out piece of logic is that Jesus was not acting as priest, but rather as sacrifice. A sheep has no tribe.
Further, tribal connections were determined by the father, Since the father was God, I believe that left another nice loophole.
(Forgot about the Hebrew verse. Major kudos to the above poster who mentioned it.)

You need to read the whole Bible, not just a few verses. That whole subject is dealt with in Hebrews 7:14 "For it is evident that our Lord was descended from Judah, a tribe with reference to which Moses spoke nothing concerning priests. 15 And this is clearer still, if another priest arises according to the likeness of Melchizedek, 16 who has become such not on the basis of a law of physical requirement, but according to the power of an indestructible life. 17 For it is attested of Him, "YOU ARE A PRIEST FOREVER ACCORDING TO THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK."
