It simply means that you tend to look down on yourself, that you believe others to be superior to yourself, with no reason to do so.

Healing yourself of an inferiority complex involves seeing yourself for your true worth. It means recognizing that you have value.

This is something that you and your therapist ougth to be able to work out toghether. If you have a religious faith, that too can help as you begin to understand your relationship with your universe.

It's another one of those Catch 22-type diagnoses: you are inferior because there is something wrong with you: namely, you believe you are inferior. Of course, if you believed you were superior, that would be something wrong with you, too.

But believing you are equal is a philosophical position, or a political position, not an emotional one.

How you get rid of it is to recognize that since we are all so different, and there are so many variables on which to evaluate humans anyway, there is no sense to this whole comparison to an ideal or to comparison to other people. You are the individual that you are, and evaluating you on some arbitrary scale is nonsense.

Don't say you are a failure, say you have not yet found your niche. Some people don't find their niche until later in life; some never really do, unless they embrace the title "failure" as their niche. I see them every day, panhandling. But study your own abilities and interests, and find where you belong in life. You will never feel inferior again.

An inferiority complex, in the fields of psychology and psychoanalysis, is a feeling that one is inferior to others in some way. It is often subconscious, and is thought to drive afflicted individuals to overcompensate, resulting either in spectacular achievement or extreme antisocial behaviour. Unlike a normal feeling of inferiority, which can act as an incentive for achievement, an inferiority complex is an advanced state of discouragement, often resulting in a retreat from difficulties.

Not much of a therapist if they told you this! It means that you feel inferior to all/most people and probably lack self confidence. I would change to a therapist who can help you deal with it rather than adding to it.

Low self esteem, insecurity, lacking confident, etc.

Inferiority = inferior. Feeling below average. Below everyone else. You feel as if you don't meet up to the standards of others. Bottom line, you care too much what others think of you. You have an insecure image of yourself.

You rid of it by realizing nobody else is above you. You are equal to everyone. We all put our pants on one leg at a time. You have skills, talent and qualities which many others do not contain while many others have skills, talent and qualities which you do not contain. It all equals out and you should not believe anyone else is superior to you. There are people whom you should respect for their experience and knowledge, but do not worship them as if they are Gods. They are still human and still capable of making mistakes. Mistakes are what makes us human. We learn from them and we gain that experience not to make the same mistakes.

Acceptance or ourselves is the best option you should choose to lead a happier lifestyle. Make the best of what abilities you have. If you cannot achieve a goal when doing your best, then accept the fact you have limits within that goal, but you can achieve other goals. Love yourself for you and choose friends who love your for you as you love them for them...faults and benefits.
