You said the usual "bob". Not sure what that means (as there are a number of different bobs), but you might want to consult with a stylist who specializes in little girl styles.

You have to be careful with a girl that age. You don't want to have it cut too short. Even with a pixie she might be mistaken for a boy.

One day I ran into an old friend whom I had not seen in years. She had her 7-year old child in tow (whom I did not know about; like I said, it's been years) and I greeted this short-haired child with "Well, hello, young man". All of a sudden her smile turned into a frown, she folded her arms, and exclaimed in her best Tatum O'Neill in "Paper Moon" fashion "I'M A GIRL!"
Oops, that was embarrassing...for everyone involved! The girl was wearing a t-shirt and shorts, so I just assumed....

Anyway, make sure whatever cut she gets will suit her!

Bangs look really cute, I had them when I was six, but they would always grow over my eyes, so if her hair grows quickly I would suggest not doing that. After I had grown my bangs out, this was my usual style: Shoulder-length hair that is slightly angled in the front. It was pretty, cute, and easy- to- handle. Also, make sure your daughter really wants to get it cut. I always wanted really long hair- I also know kids who had long hair but got it cut, and a week later they wanted their hair to be long again. Hope I helped!

Bangs are a little to old for 6 year olds. They cant handle them because they are constantly playing and running around. Go for a cute short bob. It will keep her looking cute and her age, with no worries with keeping it out of her face!

I cut my daughters hair up to her shoulders and layered it back. Stay away from the bangs though, they take years to grow up and you have to constantly trim them and 6 year olds don't want to sit still so many times.

I really don't think you should do anything that requires lots of styling, like curling it. It would take way too long for a six year old. I would try short layers.

As her mom, i assume you have the nicely suited to make her get her hair decrease. yet i in my opinion would not do it. Her hair is a factor of her physique and her self-image. For some ladies, long hair is extra advantageous than a fashion - it somewhat is a factor of them. one in each and every of my daugthers had hair below her waste from 2d grade by center college. i did not like it as a results of fact it became in lots of cases messy and it became very annoying to bathe and brush. even inspite of the shown fact that it became substantial to her to maintain it long, so we enable her. ultimately she discovered to guard it herself, and later she have been given bored with it and have been given it decrease. At 6 years previous, your daughter isn't a tactics from the age the place she would desire to accomplish a little of her own hair care. interior the intervening time, pony tails and braids are a sturdy compromise.

A graduated bob is nice short at the back longer at the front.

what about a graduated bob or a layered bob similar to posh spice? you can get nice short cuts too that are stylish and not too boyish. better to go to a hairdresser for better advice.
