Time is a measure of the separation of events. Humans made time a linear concept to prevent things happening all at once. In reality, time is not linear - everything does happen all at once, except in different points in time. Imagine being in a traffic jam on the M1. From where you are, you can see the car behind and a few cars in front - just like human-made time. Now imagine being in a helicopter looking down on the whole of the M1 - you can see everything happening simultaneously and totally from an altered perspective - something that humans cannot conceive but is totally possible. Hope this helps and happy new year.

Albert Einstein came to a sudden realization: time is not absolute. In other words, despite our common perception that a second is always a second everywhere in the universe, the rate at which time flows depends upon where you are and how fast you are traveling.

It's difficult for humans to understand time because we pass through it and have no control over it. Time is one of the dimensions of the universe. It started when the universe had no other dimensions and it will continue for as long as the universe expands.
