Skip the Saturn, I would look at the 350Z, the Honda S2000 and the Ford Mustang GT (maybe even a Miata/MX5). While the Saturn is nice looking, there are a few design and other problems:
-cheesy interior
-clunky manual transmission and numb steering
-poor convertible design
-heavy for it's size (vs a Miata)
-likely poor reliability, especially as it is a new design
-$2000+ dealer mark-ups and can only find loaded models

Nissan:
-Expensive to insure
-heavy
-lousy mpg if you jump on the gas a lot
-good cruiser

Mustang:
-V8 (skip the V6)
-old school suspension
-interior quality poor - looks decent, feels like tupperware
-may be the best looking car of the bunch
-resale/depreciation not great
-not likely to set any reliability standards, but should be average
-mpg not great

S2000:
-sports car of the bunch - rides hard and is noisy
-have to rev it hard to get anything out of it
-great reliability
-manual transmission only (a great one though)

MX5:
-least expensive
-fun to drive, lightest of the bunch
-not overly masculine looking
-least powerful, but good mpg and quick enough for most

If money doesn't matter, buy the 350z. Its about 15k more but outperforms the Porsche Boxter and the Audi TT. The Nissan is a 6 cylinder and the Saturn is a 4 cylinder. Also, you will get a much higher resale value out of the Nissan.

I would go with the Saturn. Just to many reasons to mention here. Dont listen to the Japanese cars come from God crowd. Saturns are great cars.
