Last nite my cat started to meo(semi-loud if you will) a couple of times, and then started gaging. I thought it was a hair ball or something. But it just kept on coming out. When I looked at it, it looked like my cat had pooped alot, but out of her mouth. And it was wet, so I'm guessing she threw up. Should I be concerned about her health, or is this something that happens every now and again?

yes cats do throw up every now and then I shouldn't be too worried about it happening once.
If she throws up again soon it might be a problem so keep an eye on her check she is eating normally and that she doesn't throw up again in the next 48 hours or so. If she throws up again or is behaving abnormally in another way it's best to take her to the vets for a checkup.
have you just changed her food brand or type as occasionally this can cause vomiting and diarrhea some of the cat foods out there are really crap

Cats get sick like humans do. You should take it for a routine check. You might want to consider buying some hairball paste also. It is inexpensive and if it was just a hairball this paste will help it pass these naturally. Also, when a cat has an upset stomach they eat grass. You might want to consider growing a small pot of grass inside the house for the cat to chew.

hmm..well i have a cat too and same thing happened to me i thought it was a hairball toobut yah he vomited . it wus very little and looked like the food he ate .that was sitting out along time .i didn't take him to the doctor though i gave him water and he was fine and still in good health now..If you don't have an idea why this was happening mabey the vet can tell you. ..so i recomend you to take her to the doctor (a check up or somthing)to see whats going on.

my cat does that too. it's like a loud and awful meow. kinda like he wants to get the puke out but can't. hairballs need to come out of kitty's tummy. maybe get some cat grass to make the puking a little less forceful. don't worry. but if she throws up more than 2 times a day then take her toa vet

My cat does the same thing. The vet said its hairballs. I have tried to give him the hairball medicine you get at walmart that comes in a tube. He won't eat it he gag's. as long as he is eating and drinking and using the litter box there is nothing I can do. Good Luck

She may have just chowed down too fast. Just keep an eye on her make sure she is acting like her normal self. Cats get a touch of the flu sometimes just like us so she should be okay, just watch to see if she's eating and drinking and watch for any blood in her vomit.

Cats vomit alot. It is usually associated with hairballs. If your cat begins to act differently or lose weight or stop eating and drinking then I would be concerned. Otherwise, just realize it is something that you will probably have to live with
