Yes I have been to Mull. Beautiful place. Best place to stay is around the Tobermory area. I am not sure whether you want Bed and Breakfast accommodation or Self catering cottage. We haven't actually stayed in self-catering but had made enquiries to a couple of sites. Best place to stay B&B Tobermory or Arle lodge (website: www.arlelodge.co.uk). Websites are: www.visitscotland.co.uk and type in mull. There are some cottages in Trennish about 5 miles from Tobermory, type in www.accommodationmull.co.uk /treshnish. There is one more and that is www.kentallencottages.co.uk. Hope this information helps and have a great time.

isle of mull hotel is lovely and friendly just next to the ferry and about 2 or 3 miles from tobermory where balamory was set it is a lovely island
