Is there anything I can do today before a big New Year's party tonight that will help me to not have a hangover tomorrow? And if I do end up hungover, what can I do to get over it?

Just make sure that while you're drinking tonight, you're eating too. Make use of the snacks; it'll help to keep you feeling full, so you won't drink as much. Also, drink non-alcoholic drinks every so often, to help keep you hydrated (this will also contribute to the "full" feeling).

Before you got to bed tonight (after the party), drink a couple of glasses of water (some people swear by Gatorade, or something similar, but water is the original, and still the best). Also, if you can manage it, take an aspirin (or other pain reliever) at least ONE HOUR before you go to bed. If you take aspirin (etc) immediately before you go to bed, it can hurt your stomach. So try to stay on your feet (or at least sitting) for a while before you go to bed.

If you wake up with a hangover...well, the only REAL cure is time. Stay away from coffee/caffeine; that only makes it worse. If you can manage it, drink fruit juice (or even better: fruit nectar, like papaya or mango juice). The fluid and calories are what you need. As soon as your stomach will let you, try your favorite pain reliever, but only take one pill every half-hour or so. This will keep your already-troubled stomach from (literally) turning on you.

I never tried this, but a college buddy told me that if you can drink 6 raw eggs without getting sick. You will be able to drink all night and not have a hangover.

Seriously though, At the end of the evening drink lots of water. A lot of hangovers are due to being dehydrated in the morning.

If you're really hung-over, drink a lot of fruit juice, tomato juice, or gatorade.

If you don't need to drive, the quickest way to kill a hangover is to have another drink.

Drink plenty of water and, take two advil or ibuprophen- not tylenol or asprin, right before bed- maybe choke down a piece or two of bread.
if you do wake up with a hangover, the best thing, and i really do mean the BEST thing is a quarter pounder with cheese meal with a regular coke from McDonalds. (normally not my choice, but a seriously wicked cure-all)

someone also told me his cure for a no pukey event was to eat some ice cream or drink milk to coat his stomach- and took a few tums during the drinking.

and lord almighty, hangovers suck more as you get older.
hope you have a great time.

don't drink on an empty stomach. Also, drink lots of water along with the booze. The hangover is a symptom of dehydration caused by alcohol. Try to keep your body hydrated with water. Also, don't drink too much. Be social, but don't get 3 sheets to the wind merely because it is new years eve.

Eat a decent meal about 1 to 2 hours before you plan to start drinking and make sure that you drink water intermittently throughout the night.

Drink as much water as you can before you start drinking alcohol. It keeps you hydrated and dillutes the alcohol in your system so that you don't get the headache and other stuff that goes with the hangover.

Also, drink champagne. It doesn't give hangovers as much as red wine or hard liquor, or even beer I think.

eat a lot before you start drinking...drink water throughout the night along with your alcohol.....if you start feeling super drunk eat a piece or two of bread ...it wll soak up the alcohol in your stomach.....also even if you dont feel you need medicine for headache or anything take two or three(depending on how drunk you are) ibuprofens or tylenols before you go to bed that prevents hang overs in the morning........if you end up with a hangover in the morning....take any anti acid over the counter meds...use tums,,,,take meds for the headache....and if you feel like you need to throw up ....do it b/c that is your body saying you have too much alcohol in your stomach...you will feel much better after all of this.....

I fill a mug with water and positioned it into the microwave oven for a complete minute. Then I take it out and soak the tea bag in it for countless cases till I see there is not extra tea flowing to the water. speedy tea! i admire green teas and on occasion for a "kick up" result, the black tea is my selection! Have a impressive day, you too!
