Some times I forget my purpose and try to be.

I always end up looking like a fool when I do though.

I don't consider myself an intellectual bully, but I will (if I'm familiar with the subject) shoot down the feeble arguments of pseudo-intellectuals who are trying to use intellect to bash others.

Do I know everything? Nope; and neither does anyone else. Those that claim to know what's right for EVERYONE are those I tend to disagree with.

i'm an engineer and specific the only reason i will spell my call wisely is from repetition. (it somewhat is an exaggeration, yet not too lots of one - i'm poor at spelling.) God bless the spell verify characteristic. there isn't any sturdy excuse for not utilising it. so a tactics as grammar, I strongly suspect that the different questions approximately this communicate board are not coming from human beings whose known language is English - and as Will Rogers used to assert - I never make exciting of a individual with an accessory, as a results of fact they are able to talk extra languages than i will. With that in the process recommendations, the psychological bully concept sounds extra like lack of self belief?

Hello =)

A bully, no.... I certainly hope not...

I think of myself more as an intellectual defender/knight.

As a Buddhist, I argue on all sides of spiritual arguments, defending the rights of all to believe as they see fit. Encouraging all to be happy with their choices.

I do not like to see the beliefs of one person, or one group trampling down the beliefs of another, and usually that is what draws me into an intellectual argument in this category.

I think it is important for all of us to respect each others beliefs when it comes to "religion and spirituality", and we should encourage each other, not rip each other to shreds.

I am frequently saddened to see the narrow viewpoints of many Christians here, however, spewing their venomous doctrine of "If you don't believe exactly what I believe, you will go to hell"...... This is not an appropriate attitude, and I will engage them in argument, for that reason....not to be a bully.

Namaste, and Happy New Year,

--Tom

No I just like the cut and thrust of debate. I don't mince my words but I respect the right of other people to be the same with me.

Given that the smartest and wisest understand that they don't know everything, only the feeble would lend themselves to such a course of action.

Great question! I do feel I get overly defensive and "righteous" during a debate or even when Im casually pondering philosophical ideas with friends. Its a personal flaw you've really made me think about. Thanks!
