In NYC, it's been in the high 40s, low 50s, for the last three weeks. Ten years ago, it was just as warm, but the cold winter swept in a few days before X-Mas. This is the warmest winter I could ever remember. What's causing this? I could only guess and leave that question to the experts, those who study environmental behavior for years. Still, I don't know if they even have the answer. If it wasn't for the global warming Green House theory, I would be greatly enjoying this mild winter. That's why when I saw heavy snowstorm in Denver during the football game last week, I was glad it was still snowing in the world. Just not here.

YES !!! finally someone said something ! . . I'm from MA and we've had like one of the warmest winter ever! only 1 day with snow and the snow was very short and light. I was wondering what was causing this. It might be global warming.. but another possible effect is called El Nino. It this tropical thingy that causes all the weather to be all messed up. because like the Northwestern border is having snow.. and the east coast it totally in the 50's !
Hope this helps!

I live in Phoenix which is much warmer than most of the U.S. I think it has been in the mid 50s this past week, which I guess is warmer than normal for this time of year. But global warming is much more than just rising temperatures, it supposedly causes more severe hurricanes and other stuff. A good movie on global warming if you want to get hyped up about it is An Inconvenient Truth. Personally, I'd just like to get an electric car that is convenient so that I can stop feeling bad everytime I'm sitting in traffic polluting the environment. That's really all most of us can do, you know?

Upstate NY. No snow yet, warm temps. It's not global warming, the earth has gone through warm periods and ice ages before. Eve if the north pole does melt, it's not cause to panic. Because If you take a glass of ice and fill it with water, what happens when the ice melts? The glass doesn't overflow, so there won't be any oceanfront property in Ohio.

Global warming, Balderdash! It's 10 degrees F here in Okanogan, Washington and we've had more snow in the last month than we've had in the past 5 years and I am sick of it, I can wait for spring so this evil white stuff will go away.

No, as a life time resident of the Detroit area of Michigan the weather is typical, I recall several Winters where as the temperature remained above average recorded temps with very little snow...
No, and after thoroughly studying the so-called global warming theory, I am convinced that most all available subject matter pertaining to "global warming" is based upon speculation, and deliberate falsification via a select handful of socialist anti-American politicians of whom most have D's following their last names, in order to make huge profits for their totally corrupted party by threatening the auto and oil industries with stricter governmental regulations and forcing them to drastically change their technology... Much more information is available to those that care to learn the truth via several websites of which supply ample and much more accurate information that is based upon facts and logic regarding the natural changes that have occurred on Earth throughout history, thus Mother Nature is simply doing her thing, so to speak. Bear in mind that every time lightening storms occur Mother Nature cleans the atmosphere, and according to many scientists it is possible that we are experiencing the beginning of another ice-age...

I am from the south and yes, we are having upper 60's for highs. A few years ago at this time it was freezing and in fact it snowed on New Years Eve. None of that this year though. We have been walking around outside in shorts.
