If you have only been dating 9 days and he ditched you, that means either you are not what he is looking for or he is not ready for a relationship. He may have sent the "tragic accident" e-mail as a mass mailing to everyone on a distribution list or it could be he is not into you, but wants to string you along as a back-up plan. As he is giving you mixed messages, you need to decide if you want to pursue the relationship and what your boundries are to be then stick to them and call him on the mixed messages. If you have broken up, you could just e-mail him back in response to the "tragic accident" asking him why he sent or what was the purpose of sending this e-mail to you since he broke up with you? If it was in error, tell him you respectfully request he delete your e-mail address from his mass distribution list going forward because it is inappropriate under the circumstances.

It's probably a "Kiss Off!"
I'm also thinking that he could be married and "backed out" from you, because after only 9 days of dating, nothing else would make sense!! He got scared!
Once I knew a guy I was infatuated with, I guess, well, I was very attracted to him, I got his phone number and he'd say to me "call first". I never did call, but, I was chasing him and one day when I got him alone in person, he told me he was GAY!
I didn't believe it, 'cause then he was one of those "Ladie's" men, I realized. My conclusion was he either already had a GF and wasn't interested in anyone else, OR, I just didn't click with him!
It was ok, I knew I was being blown off by this one!
Met better people after that!!!!!!!
My point, when you get a "line of bull" from someone you met in a short time, tap into your senses and let your intuition tell you what's up! It won't fail you!
After awhile, you will get REAL good at this and you will be able to be a human radar to the "good" and "bad" out there!
Don't worry, there are plenty of good guys out there to meet! My Blessings!

Not kewl...but a 9 day old relationship is just a baby anyway. See what he has to say, but don't hold out hope of getting back together. Breaking up online is cowardly, when the option for face-to-face exists...
Hope your New Year can be groovy in spite of this.

Just leave him alone and see what happens. He is not very mature doing the talking over the email.
Talk to him face to face but do not expect to get together. That way you will not be disappointed again.
Next time stay friends.

sorry to say, but maybe the person that was in an accident could of been his ex, and he still has feelings for her, but why don't you wait and see what he says in person,
