I have traveled and studied extensively in a similar search focusing on religious knowledge as well as the resultant behavior of the people found. I do not claim ultimate expertise on this subject, but my findings are certainly very highly reliable.

For me, the best index of the answer to your question is the actual behavior of the people, the lower incidence of crime, the following of The Golden Rule and such.

In that respect, I have found less crime and more true, good and beautiful behavior in Utah and Salt Lake City than anywhere else I have lived (I have lived all over the USA and in many parts of the world).

I have never been to Singapore, but I am led to believe that this would be a very close second, if not the equal of Utah.

I do not know the religious complexion of Singapore, there are also other factors such as type of government and ethical level of governance.

In Utah the predominate religious grouping is LDS, also known as Mormon.

Another group, the ones I rank highest of all, are many of those who read and value The URANITA Book; but these are scattered widely in many nations, not gathered up into one single place.

China and Israel deserve honorable mention for the strength of FAMILY, a very important factor in cultural high achievement and stability. I would also rank Japan highly.

There is a significant concentration of very good people in many other nations: Denmark, Sweden, Norway come to mind, also Iceland.

The best people of all have a PERSONAL relationship to God and the other heavenly powers rather than merely an institutional relationship of membership in some particular religious denomination.

All people and places whom I have mentioned can take pride in their accomplishments, provided they continue the path of progress as individuals and groupings.

Confucius or someone from China once said, "Learning is like paddling a canoe upstream; he who does not advance, recedes." This applies to religion as well.

Nothing is so sad as to see some people stagnant, albeit at a high level.

I am glad you asked this particular question, it is far less offensive in the answering than who are the worst people.

The best people are shining lights to the other peoples of the earth.

ALL RELIGIONS are the same when you realize God , religions don't make god a difference, his children can take any route and reach him as the highest religion is not islam, nor chirstanity nor any other as the true religion is GOD himself and TRUTH AND LOVE , there is no religion greater then truth,
"
Religions are like different rivers which man can take but they all go to the sea "

GOD BLESS ALL GOOD
sorry if i said something wrong but it is his grace that i have written this.

Christianity is the largest religion in the world. In terms of raw numbers, Christianity has more than 1.9 billion people professing faith, or 33% of the world's population. Islam is next with 22%, followed by Hinduism at 15%. Others: non-religious (14%), Buddhism (6%), and Judaism (0.5%). Note that there are more Non-Religious individuals than those that follow the Jewish faith. That was a shocking number to me.

If you mean the highest number of people, then it would have to be Christians.

But if you mean the most spiritually evolved, then it could be any of a number of different belief systems, and Christianity CAN NOT be included in that list.

The list of contenders for the most spiritually evolved would include: New Age, Neo-Pagans, Buddhists, Wiccans, Krishna, and various other free thinking spiritual belief systems. I don't know what all of them are, personally, so I can't list them all. but you know who you are.

Probably those that use peyote or maybe some of the island religions. It is not really about how high you get, it is a way of breaking the bonds of the material world and being spiritual. I honestly think that it is not possible unless you are born into that culture to fully experience the sacrament.

I like the answer just before mine, and if you take into consideration that Christianiaty and the Jews are rated the HIGHEST NUMBER, you Put the two together, when the time Comes that Christ will change the hearts of the non-believing Jews, and you get 2/3rds, or atleast HALF, of the worlds population, who BELIEVE in JESUS CHRIST, as the MESSIAH, ULTIMATELY GOD, incarnate.
And the other 1/3 of the population SAYS WE ARE LOST!
or there is no GOD.
what are they, MONKEY WORSHIPPERS???
Great, Great, Great...etc.etc.etc. Grandfather was an ape and swung from trees...PLEASE!!!
