Two reasons-
1) after a couple of weeks of use, getting to sleep without such a tablet becomes impossible.
2) the more time you use them, the bigger the dose needs to be to achieve the same effect (sleep). Sadly, this does not mean the toxic side effects become any less

I take Valerian, I like things that are natural. Over the counter and Md drugs to me all do damage to the body. When I get a prescription I put the name of the drug..dangers in Google.com
I shall assume your young. I am mature
I suppose if I was 80ish I would not care as much about the dangers of of drug if it were keeping me alive.
Happy New Year

You will become addicted to them and start to rely on the use of tablets every night to go to sleep. They also send you into a deeper sleep than if you dont take them. It is better to go to sleep naturally.

1. Side effects.
2. Addiction forming.
3. After some times, you may have to increase the dosage.

Some of them aren't good for either it's your kidney or liver... not sure which one. And you also build up an immunity to them and have to take more and more for it to actually work. And there will be a time where you can't even sleep unless you take them. I use to take them every night. It's not really good for you. And if you do take them... I would get the Aleve not Tylenol

Because they can be habit-forming. That lessens and eventually eliminates their effectiveness, and leads to other serious health problems. Overdoses can kill, and with some of these sleeping preparations, as few as two instead of the usual one is an overdose. Why, are you in a hurry to die?

Well, addiction can be a problem. However, I think that if a med. helps you - really helps - then the good outweighs the dependency. Period.

BECAUSE THEY ARE ADDICTIVE AND DO NOT GIVE YOU A NATURAL SLEEP. IF YOU EVER WANT TO GET OFF OF THEM, AND YOU SHOULD, YOU WILL SEE HOW HARD THE PROCESS IS.
