no, but it is new years eve in California now.I answered this on 12/31/06, time 10:47am at the east side of the united states of america.

There are different time zones. Califonia is 4 hours behind the eastern zone so I will most likely say that it's not New Years yet. but it is new years eve

no it is not ,it is only 3.40 pm in the uk even and california is about 8/9 hours behind us.
in australia and new zealand it will now be 2007 :O)
