It is just excess fluid. You will see that after your period is over, it will come right off again. Most women have this problem. Just continue your weight loss program and don't pay attention to your scale around the time for your period. Many women get the weight gain before their period starts, so if that happens to you, don't worry about that either.

It sounds as if you are doing great on your weight loss program. I wish I would get the motivation to get started. Maybe I can make it a New Years' Resolution. Good luck to you.

It is water weight. I can literally fluctuate three to five pounds up or down each day. I find that if I drink more water, it flushes a lot of the water weight right out.

Congratulations on your weight loss!

A lot of that weight loss originally was water just as the gained weight is water. Just keep dieting and you will see results - you just have to remember the water weight is going to fluctuate.

Most likely. I usually gain 3-5 pounds when on my period, but if I don't overdo my eating for that week, I usually end up a pound or two less at the end. I wouldn't let the little gain right now discourage you, sounds like you are doing great!!!

It is quite normal to gain weight while on your period, but don't worry. The weight gain is only caused by water retention. The solution to this is to flush it out by drinking lots of water! Which, by the way, also aids in losing fat...so, quit reading this and go get yourself a glass of water!

Yup, you can gain water weight during your period. Also losing 12lbs in 7 days, that was most likely water weight lost, too.

Weight gain from period is MOST LIKELY water retention.
Try cutting carbohydrates and consuming proteins (LEAN) for the next 2 days. Lots of water too, not carbonated drinks.

Yup, it's most likely water weight. But it's not safe to lose 12 lbs in 7 days. The most you're suppose to lose is 2-3 lbs per week. Be careful, if you lose your weight too fast, you're hair might start to fall off in clumps & you'll begin to lose a healthy glow in your face.
