I posted a link below that will give you some idea in terms of salary you can expect and/or the demand for the job in Australia. It is by no means exact, but you can also search from the job listings to find out what kind of skills the employers look for (There's a link on that page "Find vacancies for this occupation").

Medical Imaging Professional is the official title for radiographers, if you'd like to recheck, go to this page (http://jobsearch.gov.au/joboutlook/default.aspx?PageId=AlphaSearch#Q) and click on radiographers to go to the same page.

I am by no means an expert on this but from what I have seen in the media, this place is crying out for radiographers. It seems we are always in need of them so you could probably pick and choose jobs in that area. I don't know what the pay is like but I am sure it wouldn't be less than what you would get in the UK, more than likely more. There should be some websites for the Health department here advertising jobs etc....

Living conditions are great here, but I guess every place has good and bad. Depending on what kind of lifestyle you like, you will probably find an area that suits your needs. I am from Perth and if you like warm weather then this is the place. Or even Queensland but sometimes the humidity can be stifling (although I think alot of ppl from the UK have moved there). Melbourne is often described as having four seasons in one day. Lots of shopping and entertainment, as does Sydney. Hobart in Tasmania is cool most of the year round. Beautiful countryside. So if you want either beach, inner city living, country lifestyle, nightlife, laid back attitude, then it's here somewhere. :o) And there are heaps of poms (no offence, my mum's one!!).

Good luck. It would be a great experience for you. Plus if you have saved heaps then the exchange rate works out well for you!

Ive just moved to Europe from Aus, and missing home terribly. Its such a great place, you have everything you need, no matter which country you come from, very multicultural. Not sure how the pay is for radiographers, but if you looking for other expats, there's always heaps of pom's at Bondi (and the weather in sydney is balmy most of the year!)
