I believe in the survival of consciousness but not deities, souls or spirits.

I'm sure you've heard it before but most people are atheist with respect to *some* god or other (hence you can include a comment about Buddhists who aren't even uniformly believers in any god).

So, yes, that dull knife you've used to separate humanity into Theist or Atheist camps has made an answer almost obvious but valueless for arriving at any implications: yes, some atheists do believe in ghosts and spirits.

I'm not sure if I can be classified as an atheist but I think religion is all a lie.

I do believe that we are spirits having a human experience.

I even have some proof in a way. Read my old posts or email and I can explain.

First off, that's a great image, and it is NOT pornographic. As far as Ghosts and Spirits goes, the jury is out. I know too many people who have had strange encounters to completely write it off, but I am VERY skeptical. If it is a topic you are interested in, read some Jacques Vallee. He has some interesting hypotheses on the subject.

I don't. Most of us have a problem with anything supernatural since there isn't any good evidence for it. So in general the answer is no. You could probably find one or two if you looked around a little.

This atheist does not believe in ghosts. As far as spirits go, there are credible single-malt Scotches. I've gone as far as Edinburgh to visit these apparitions.

I certainly don't. Hopefully someone rational enough to figure out that there is no God or gods is rational enough to realize that there is also no such thing as ghosts or spirits. If you are going to believe in sky fairies you might as well believe in the Supreme Sky Fairy.

Atheist believe in nothing without first seeing it with their own eyes.

Def: Atheism is the denial of the existence of God or gods and of any supernatural existence,

Some do, some don't. There's no one set of beliefs that all atheists follow. Each is different. The only thing we agree on, is that there is no evidence of gods.

Some do, not all atheists are atheistic for the same reasons.

Superstition tends to be lower in atheists but there are of course exceptions.
