Don't worry about fad diets or other passing "in" things. Cut your calories back to 1500 (2000 if you have a very physically demanding job). No matter the carbs or fats, if you keep your calorie intake at 1500 and have a healthy metabolism, you will lose weight.

Simplicity is the name of the game.

Count calories and fat grams, don't become a slave to either but learn to be aware of what it is you are eating. You can splurge once in awhile, but you need to balance the splurges out with enough exercise or later reduction to allow for those "weak" moment. After a few days you can look at something and guess how many calories it has and be pretty good at guessing how much you can eat.

Exercise is the quickest method to speed the process along. It can be a simple as brisks walks through out the day and doesn't change your routine that much. Simply by parking a little further from the door, using the stairs instead of elevator.

I tried several box diets and book diets, but in the end, the only one i was able to stick too and didn't feel like a diet was just watching what I ate. I never felt hungry and once I intuitively knew calorie/fat counts it never felt like a diet.

The healthiest way is not the quickest way. Healthiest is to eat a well balanced diet with all of the food groups every day and slightly smaller portions that you would normally take in while avoiding sweets and excessive simple carbohydrates. When you deprive yourself completely of the foods you enjoy then you have a greater risk of failure. Enjoy the foods that you like but in smaller portions. Increase your activity level. I also believe that one of the most important things to do when trying to lose weight is to drink a LOT of water. Although other drink choices are okay in moderation water is the best. You would not want to wash your clothes in tea or diet soda so you would certainly not want to cleanse the inside of your body with them (freeing your body of waste products) either.

I would suggest a cleansing diet. I did this and lost 12 pounds and 19 inches in 9 days. I continued and lost 29 pounds in a month. I like the program since it works by giving your body nutrition through protein shakes with digestive enzymes and vitamins and then cleansing out the toxins. We get toxins in our bodies from pesticides, preservatives, water, pollution, medications, food additives etc…. These toxins enter our bodies and get stored in our fat cells. To shrink the fat, we need to get rid of the toxins through cleansing. The program also has a natural diet pill to help your metabolism and curb cravings. It works and it works fast. My skin has improved from the cleansing. You can get more info at this toll free number 1-877-587-4647. It is pricey but worth it! I think cleansing is really important to health and weight loss. Give it a try and good luck! http://diet4cleansing.com

Reducing calories, getting more exercise, keeping active every moment of the day, staying positive on your weight loss goals, and knowing that every day is a new day.
Good luck - Remember, spending money on pills or "miracle detox agents" are COMPLETELY false and truly a waste of money. Buy only what you need, and when you have extra, reward yourself every time you look at the numbers on the scales dropping from simple cutting calories and burning more from exercise.
