I just see his talent being wasted there.
Hopefully just a couple of fights and he goes back to Pride?
I dont see anyone in the UFC really challenging him, if so who?...Sorry just had to rant!

drytbyrd, I couldnt agree with you more. Imagine a fighter like crocop in a card with leben, griffin, and kenflo. Imagine crocop being dictated by SOB Dana White. Imagine crocop in the latest xyience commercials. Imagine crocop fighting reality TV rejects immediately before retirement.................

I feel your pain......it seems like the world is coming to an end....Its a sad world we live in.

sincerely,

Don Trollio

Yes I agree and hope Cro Cop will go back to Pride, the rules are a bit to wimpy in Ufc, Cro cop will have to learn to follow, the soccer kicks are not allowed in ufc. man on the ground and the fighter kicks him while standing up. But I would like to see Cro cop Dominate the fighters in the Ufc and then go back to Pride. Can't wait till the fight on feb,3rd. The fighter he will be fighting never heard of him anyone else know about him

Hes coming to the UFC along with Heath Herring and Rampage. They're gonna make the announcement at the PPV on Saturday. Looks like Sylvia is in trouble.

I agree, but he will do the world a favor by exposing the UFC for having B class heavyweights as compared to PRIDE when he steamrolls through the division with ease!

Then hopefully Dana White and the UFC will wake up and offer some real money to attract some talent.

DyrtByrd, if you read some of my previous answers you'll see that I have been criticizing Dana White and UFC for a long time now.

But the fact is, this man is a businessman and he clearly knows what he's doing. As any true MMA fan knows, for the past few years UFC has been filled with poorly trained, C level, mediocre fighters and yet they were being very successful and gaining more and more popularity. The reason for that was an exceptionally dumb UFC fan base whose MMA knowledge was consisting only of what they have seen on Spike TV and mentality was - if it's not there it wasn't worth watching. So Dana White had no trouble building his marketing around that.

But times are clearly changing now and he is fully aware of that. Foreign fighters have made their way in and easily obliterated and exposed his "world champions". This made most of the American hardcore UFC only "martial arts experts" realize the fact that there is actually an MMA world outside of the United States and how much of a joke their fighters really are.
Now Dana is acting according to that. He has started bringing in some real talent lately, which has immediately given UFC a lot more international popularity, and now the king of all MMA transfers has followed. Mirko and "Rampage" are both coming and are set to compete at UFC 67.

As you said, Mirko obviously has no competition here, but the truth is, with exception of Fedor Emelianenko (who could also be leaving PRIDE and transferring for BODOG soon) he at this moment has no real competition anywhere. He is definitely, in very short time, going to become UFC heavyweight champion and make this division a lot more elite and respectful for them. I don't know if you have heard but Dana has also brought Heath Herring in and is seriously trying to get Aleksander Emelianenko too so he could, by all means, have some really awesome heavyweight matches in very near future.

And Quinton "Rampage" Jackson is a story for it self. He is a tremendous fighter, without question one of the best light heavyweights in the world today. But most of all he has such incredible personality and charisma and with proper marketing I really think that this man has all the potential in the world to be, well like the next Mike Tyson and a true guiding light of UFC in years to come. Even though Chuck Liddell is a very good fighter, "Rampage" is definitely going to beat him once again and become the UFC champion very soon.

So there you have it. I really don't think that we can be too critical of UFC any more. Dana White has really done great work lately and ensured his company real potential and, along side PRIDE, the spotlight of MMA world for next year and I can tell you that I am definitely about to become a UFC fan, because of Mirko - my fellow Croatian and all the other great matches that they should now be able to put on for next year.

It was a money thing and I also believe he'll dominate some of these little fighters in UFC then go back to PrideFC where they don't stop a fight if you get hit hard in the face and where you can kick on the ground.

okay mma is becoming so big and popular and awesome that they really should pull like a wwf/wcw type merger. that would be a couple of awesome pay per views, if zuffa bought pride and they just like had unification matches for a few months. prides best guys vs ufc. idk i just think if there was like a real standardized organization like ufc could be, with all the talent and not a hundred other mma circuits, it would get more publicity and everyone would get paid more too. then mma would totally eclipse boxing

Cro Cop has already been to K-1, and his contract with Pride is up. I think he wants to got o UFC because it's getting more exposure, i.e. more money. Plus he'll be put up against people he hasn't fought yet. I definetly think Liddell will be challenging cro cop, it should be an interesting year!!!

I feel exactly same way. I wish he would have stay in Pride or at least go to K-1 Hero's.

You're right. Royce Gracie should not fight in the UFC. Because I don't think anybody would have a chance against him. I think he should stick with Pride.
