Go to Amtrak.com and enter your departure and destination which will give you all of the specs. It's not going to be direct from point to point so you will want to see the route, layovers and types of transportation (train or bus) you will be on.

I would just go to the train station in Longview washington and take the Talgo train to seattle. Takes about 2 hours at about 80 mph.

well techinally from Long beach you will first have to take a bus
(Amtrak does have a bus to Union station) or you can easy
take the Metro Blue line train to 7th Street then change to the Red Line to Union station (that will cost you $1.25 per trip ($1.25 on the Blue Line and another $1.25 on the Red Line)
then you will be board the Coast starlight -Amtrak says
the average time to get from Los Angeles, to Seattle is about 40 to 45 hours, although the starlight sometimes get stuck behind
freight traffic its been know be very late o late thats
why its nickname the starLATE
but UP and Amtrak trying to work that....since UP owns the tracks Amtrak uses)
but riding the train is fun! you never know who you are going to meet and very intersting scenery to look at as well
of course they aslo have sleepers on the train -if you chose
the sleeper your meals ar included..
