definitely sounds like it could be beautiful if you did a realistic looking lion. but be sure to check out your artist first because i have seen some really horrible lion tattoos. and you don't want yours to be one of those. here are some examples of some beautiful lion tattoos:

and here are some not so good ones:

http://www.ratemyink.com/?action=ssp&pid=14505

as you can see, the talent of the artist makes all the difference.

You really have no right to judge and label your friend's family as they are bigot. The truth is that are right in the covering thing. Cover is a must, however more or less cover does not nullify one's Islam but you clearly said: "I would never be a muslim if hijab is a must". Listen, do you know what Tawheed means? It means three things and when you utter the Shahada, you agree with the "terms and conditions of Islam". If you deny something which is in the Qur'aan, which was revealed by Allah (SWT) through Jibreel and Mohammed (SAWS) then i think you should sit down and think what do you really want. If something really tiny like a scarf can tear you apart from Islam then this issue is serious and you should talk to an imaam/sheik etc. Hijab which means cover is part of our faith and denying the role of the hijab is not just not nice but very dangerous and indicates the lack of knowledge and faith. Seek help till you can! (I mean till you feel you are interested in Islam and you are saveable/rescuable)

I think that if you're going to get a nother tattoo, then it should be something personal. If you want a lion, go for it. Don't let anyone else change your mind just because they think it's "trashy" or whatever the case may be. I know a lot of people that have tattoos that I don't really like, but it's on their body, not mine. So, I say go for it! :)

I like the Lion for you, a Leo-that has some kind of meaning. And the black and grey tat's are great.
I was going to get a gemini symbol with flowers twisted around it, then I had a differnt idea, then another one...I think if I were actually getting them, Id have a lot! Im still on the fence about my design, but Im getting close to it. This would be my first tat....

Uh I don't know is it going to be like a cute lion, or like what...personally I dont think I can ever get a tattoo cuz I t would have to be really original for me to want to get it or (be something I like...like those scripture tattoos)
I guess if you use that one lion thats always on T-shirts (The Black Lion) then it might be okay..but I dont know..

16 is kinda young for a tatt. if u do get it don't get a big gaudy one and be sure you want to live with it the rest of ur life. I'm getting a tribal Lion Tatt in the middle of my upper back after the New Year then a little later on incorporate that to extend to the ones I have on my arms.
I am also of the opinion that u should never get a tatt that you can see with ur clothes on. Tatt's on visible body parts will prevent u from getting a good job in the business world. Be careful fellow Leo, and enjoy ur new Tatt
