Freezing rain can be very deadly in an aircraft, even one with deicing equipment.
Air liners go through it but they are there for a minimum time .
Ice builds up on the wing surface, taking the shape of the air flow.
This changes the shape of the wing contour and destroying lift.

Well freezing rain is caused when saturated air falls as precipitation but isnt cold enough to fall as snow so when it enters a colder layer it freezes on contact, so u would have an airplane covered in ice which might add resistance where you dont want it and a lot of other unecessary pressure.

Ice growing on the front side of the wings will alter the geometric shape of the section of the wings.
The shape of the wings is what generates (with the air speed) the upper pull keeping an airplane on the air.

If the rain freezes on your wings which will happen very easily. The the plane will become much heavier and the areodynamic shape of the wings will be destroyed. You will crash.

To much ice causes the plane less lift increses stall speed. Have to fly faster.Landing much faster also. Don't want to stall, thats bad.
