Yes, but uncommon.

Both males and females have breast tissue. Any cell in the human body can develop cancer. Males can have breast cancer even at the age of 14, but it is very, very rare.

Dr Greene gives a great answer about boys, puberty and when they should be examined for lumps in the breast area:
http://www.drgreene.org/body.cfm?xyzpdqabc=0&id=21&action=detail&ref=970

"Here are times to worry about lumps in a boy's (not a newborn's) breast:

If they begin before age 10 years or after age 15 years (especially after puberty is complete)
If they are not directly under the nipple
If there is overlying dimpling of the skin or skin ulceration
If the they feel fixed to the skin
If they are large--over 1.5 inches (4 cm) in diameter
If they don't go away within 2 years
If the nipples leak milk, blood, or other fluid
If there are other signs of disease--night sweats or weight loss"

National Cancer Institute Treatment Guide:
Male Breast Cancer
http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/pdq/treatment/malebreast/patient

"Male breast cancer is a disease in which malignant (cancer) cells form in the tissues of the breast.

Breast cancer may occur in men. Men at any age may develop breast cancer, but it is usually detected (found) in men between 60 and 70 years of age. Male breast cancer makes up less than 1% of all cases of breast cancer.

The following types of breast cancer are found in men:

Infiltrating ductal carcinoma: Cancer that has spread beyond the cells lining ducts in the breast. Most men with breast cancer have this type of cancer.

Ductal carcinoma in situ: Abnormal cells that are found in the lining of a duct; also called intraductal carcinoma.

Inflammatory breast cancer: A type of cancer in which the breast looks red and swollen and feels warm.

Paget’s disease of the nipple: A tumor that has grown from ducts beneath the nipple onto the surface of the nipple."

Relax! Although it is theoretically possible, more likely is that the small amount of breast tissue in the young adolescent male is stimulated by the surge of hormones during puberty. This causes a bit of breast enlargment, is many times asymmetrical (one side more than the other), and can feel like a firm lump beneath the nipple. It is generally pretty alarming to the young man, but it is normal and it usually gradually goes away. If it is dramatic, concerning, or persistent, a visit to the pediatrician would be in order.

Breast cancer can be seen in both males and females at any age. It is however very rare for a male to get breast cancer and unfortunately when it is seen in a male it is much more agressive than in females.

For kari :

Men do not have breasts, but they do have mammary glands... And they will develop into breasts in men if they are given estrogens (female hormone). Sometimes this is seen in men having a testicular tumor producing estrogens.

So yes men do get breast cancer. 1% of all breast cancer cases happen in men.

But we cant get prostate cancer, as we have nothing ressembling a prostate.

I wouldn't think it was impossible, but for males to get breast cancer is not real common (although it does occur).

Do some research online for yourself and see if you can find a case of young guys having it.

For the ignorant woman in the post, men DO GET BREAST CANCER. It is much less common, but tell the 250 people who died in the UK last year from it to "Get Real". Stupid ignorant people!

In answer to the question. Yes, it is possible, but very remote possibility. Have a GP examine it just to put your mind at rest.

It "is" possible...but, I would get it checked out with a "sonogram" before you start making out your will....

Its probably a "hard lump" that develope under a lot of boys breast...(I had one myself).

Just make SURE, when you get older and start taking prescription medication to READ THE LABELS!!

If it says it can cause "breast swelling".. Believe it, and it will make it very sore!! So, take precautions over that and get to a doctor and have them examine it and I will betcha it will probably be as I said...

I wish you well..
