See your doctor, or go the pharmacist and ask them for the best thing for you. They have many over the counter medications to help with many types of symptoms. I just went yesterday and asked the pharmacist since I am already on allergy medication and have other things. I hope you feel better. Happy New Year.

Try gargleing with Warm salt water to help kill bacteria.

Suck on hard candy. Drink strong oregano tea all day long, and as hot as possible.

If your cold and flu is over with but you still have the cough and congestion stuck on your chest and all those Rx medication do not work do the following:

Before you go to bed. On one cup of boiling water add a crush fresh garlic clove (medium size), cover container for 5 minutes than add honey and drink it. Do this for one week every night and all mucus will come out so no more mucus no more cough. Get it? Good luck!

Drink a lot of water so that you can flush out all the garlic from your system.

It depends on several things. Is it a Productive cough? By that I mean, are you coughing something up? or is it a dry cough? Dry Coughs are usually allergy related and productive coughs are your lungs trying to get rid of infection, mucus, etc. and you should see a doctor. Have you tried any over the counter med's for coughing or allergies? Good luck.

Grate about 1cm of fresh root ginger into a cup, add a spoon of honey and then pour on boiling water. Allow to cool for a while and then drink. The ginger has a natural anti-bactericide and the honey soothes. Works well for colds as well if you add some lemon juice. Has never failed for me. Over the counter.. Try Cough Nurse. Really good for those horrible, tickly coughs that keep you awake.

A good steamer with eucalyptus oil. Also, add the oil to a *hot tub or bath tub, make the water as hot as possible, then soak with a towel over your head to help condense the steam near your face.

* They have special hot tub oils you can buy that won't leave a film.

Also, start taking Cold-Ez zinc couch drops and drink a lot of Emergen-C.

Actifed dries up secretions and may help stop runny nose. Ultimately it's good to cough that stuff up. May try cough syrups in combination.

Sit in the bathroom with the shower running on hot warm, and allow the steam to build up. The moist air will help.
