Full choke for longer shots, it is .590 which is .030" constriction, modified for all around hunting. It is .600 which is .020" constriction. Imp. cyl. is a good tube for flushing birds, closer range shooting, and clay target shooting. It is .610 which is .010" constriction.
str? Unless that's sk for skeet, which is .615 which is only .005" constriction. Close range shooting especially skeet target shooting.
The link below shows the different choke tubes made for your gun and the restriction of each one.

Check the paperwork and/or call Winchester to find out which chokes can be used with steel shot. If you are hunting waterfowl (ducks, geese), you have to use steel and cannot use lead because it will poison the water. Some chokes are not rated for steel shot. If you use steel shot in a choke designed for lead, it can damage the choke to where you won't be able to remove it from the barrel. Replacement barrels start around $100, its worth the time to make sure you are shooting the right ammo through the right chokes.

Also, ask Winchester which chokes they approve shooting slugs through. If you shoot a slug through a choke too restricting, same result, the choke can't be removed from the barrel.

If you go to federalcartiridge.com and click on the downloads link you will see a pamphlet on ammunition. It will be able to explain chokes and how they pattern. A full choke has a tight pattern and doesnt spread as much as improved cylinder and modified. They also make Xfull and XXfull chokes which are even tighter patterns. Your modified and improved are mostly used for trap, skeet, waterfowl, and small game hunting since they have wider patters. hopefully this helps....

In order of pattern tightness, Winchester chokes go....

Cylinder...no constriction.
Skeet #1.....003" constriction.
Improved Cylinder....005" constriction.
Skeet #2....007" constriction.
Modified.....012" constriction.
Improved Modified....022" constriction.
Full.....036" constriction.

You would use full for the longest range shots and cylinder for close in stuff. The middle ones are pretty self explanatory.

RGV, is there some reason why you copied my post?
