Are you handy crafty?
A wedding anniversary would be a good time for reflection. Think about all the romantic, trying, happy, sad, funny, infuriating times you've had together during the last 30 years. Make a list.
Get yourself a scrap book and get to work. Find as many momentos as you can that somehow remind you of these events. Could be photos, ticket stubs, bottle caps, hair, fabric, pressed flowers or what ever. Write some comments about each of these things. Put them in some sort of order (chronological - emotional or what ever suits your or his personality). Share the gift with him, it should be as meaningful to you as it is to him (or maybe more so).
Put some blank pages in or maybe something to represent your dreams of the future.

Congratulations on the milestone. I am sure that if he is like most men, would appreciate several things - not a lot monitary. He would really appreciate your time and attention. You could surprise him by having your kids taken care of for the night and picking him up at work or meeting him after work for a drink. After than take him out to a nice dinner (doesn't have to be fancy), then a hotel room. Do things that perhaps you have either never done (oral sex - shower together - get some sex toys etc) make love more than once - he will enjoy it even if he can only do it once.
Stay the night and do him again in the morning. Believe me he will remember that more than a tie (unless you tie him up with it).
Have fun!

ok this is a multiple answer question ... depends on your spouses interests.
If he is a romantic.... a wedding picture of you both in a special frame.
My hubby would be satisfied with a dinner at his favorite place to eat and a football team shirt .
Men generally dont put much thought into the wedding anniversaries.

If you have old photos of the two of you together, make a special photo album of one photo from each year that you have been married. Start with your wedding photo, maybe include special events like births, graduations, new cars, new homes....etc.
Then write on the last page, "For the man I'd do it all over again with...my husband, my friend, my love."
Or personalize it to how you'd say that.
Congratulations!

Their 30th Anniversary is the Pearl Anniversary, if that helps - maybe something with pearls on it or associated with pearls?

I hope it's not silly. How if you give him a "surprised" hot sex that he's never got before? 30 years is sign that you have already love each other, so nothing can you do to prove it.
Hmm, may be you can give him neck tie, clothes or one of his ordinary purposes. I think it's better too.

Make him a duck tape wallet. it sounds corny, but im sure he'll like it if he really loves you. They are easy to make, and are very practible. the only supplies you need are duck tape and scissors.
