Why do you assume that the garden was not right here where it is.
Adam and Eve were only ejected from the Garden in their perceptions. It is a metaphor for a change in the way that they saw the world after they started judging, or gained the knowledge of good and evil.

We don't know how long Adam and Eve were in the Garden before they had to leave. Sadly, it doesn't seem like they were there for long. There are two clues. First, God commanded them to "be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth" (Genesis 1:28). This means they were to start having a family as soon as possible. And second, we don't read anything about the children of Adam and Eve until after they have left the Garden (Genesis 4:1-2). It takes about nine months for a human baby to develop. So they might have lived in the Garden for less than a year!
The rest of the Bible is about God's wanting to get us back. He wants to be able to walk and talk with us just as He did with Adam and Eve in those wonderful days before sin came into the world. Our new home won't be the old Garden of Eden, because that was destroyed in the Flood. Instead, we can look forward to being in heaven where we can live with God forever (evelation 22:1-5).

Hmmm... I never heard that Adam was removed from the earth to the Garden... where did you find that?
Adam and Eve were Immortal while in the Garden.. so they could have lived for thousands of years there before they were ejected.

If we try to connect the myths of Genesis with real archaeological finds, than Adam is the first man who changed his way of getting food from hunting/gathering (living in the garden) to agriculture and raising animals.
So, from the time the first hominids appeared in Africa to the time humans started agriculture - maybe 4,000,000 years.
From the time homo sapience appeared in Africa to the first farmers, maybe 200000 years.
so most of the time of our human evolution was "in the garden" the period when we gathered and hunted for food, but did not produce it.

The poor chap didn't have time to even impregnate Eve! Shouldn't the apple tree be cursed for bringing such a calamity upon the poor man?
