In the 80s US hailed him as man with a great vision who would transform the the middle east to a modern tolerant society. Some of which he did. The Iraqis could drink in the bar. The women could wear skirts, Illetracy was banned. There was no place for fundamentalist in this liberal secular society. How ever brutal he may be he has his rights to and by the way who sold him chemical wepons which he used against the Iranians?

I've been praying for Iraq and all the people in the middle east for a long time.
I know the news about Saddam and what he did to his own people. So I don't think hanging him was wrong. But I admit I felt sorry for him. At that point he just looked like an old man standing there at the gallows.

Yes I did that he would have things settled with God before facing eternity.

Sometimes when some have much, whether inherited or taken, the power goes to their heads.....then their choices become their own regardless of its affects on others.
It is easy to mask in front of others what you really are not until you get where you wish to go - but that is where the difference is - man looks upon the physical and God looks upon the heart.

Feel sorry for anyone who is executed. Not religious so I don't pray. Feel a little cheated he wasn't tried by an international court.
May have been a more interesting trial.
In the end he got what was coming to him

Ash, I guess this makes you a true believer. The Bible admonishes us to pray for our friends as well as our enemies. So whatever you felt Saddam were to you, we should have prayed for him.

I admit, I prayed for him from the time the US invaded his country.

Would it not have been something, if at the time of the hanging, he yelled, "JESUS"!!!!

Oup ! Did any one here said prey for Saddam!
Dam ! forgot to prey
May be how worse he be but we should have prayed for him. Though he was not good but now he is a soul.
We should prey for him so that he does not repeat the same mistake in his next drama !

You must be looking for some sort of acceptance. A real christian would quietly pray and not feel the need to seek approval for their deed.

With as "TRUE" to its word as our GOVERNMENT and News Media is, I still have to wonder if SADDAM is REALLY TRULY EVEN DEAD?
Did they show him HANGED on T.V.?
No just a picture of a giant noose around his neck.
He is probably in some respectable HOLE someplace, more than 6 feet under, but still alive and well, perhaps he is with ELVIS...
Okay, Elvis is dead, but do you really think Saddam is?
I really wonder?
I would like to thionk or believe he is, but you know, the U.S. Government/ SOLDIERS, had Him as well as Bin Laden in the SIGHTS OF HIGH POWERED RIFLES SOOOO many times when we were supposed to be OUT FOR THE KILL of either one of them...
But, WE NEED A REASON TO HAVE A WAR, if BIN LADEN is DEAD than what?
All our Troops get to COME HOME.
I know it sounds so stupid, But as a SHUTTLE DRIVER, for a short time at Ft.Lewis, I heard a lot of stuff, that just made sense to me. (like Soldiers breaking into houses killing INNOCENT MEN, AND BOYS...That was like 2 years ago almost,... Long before any of it came OUT in the MEDIA...)
I heard " Soldiers", had BIN LADEN in their SIGHTS, of their HEAVY FIREARMS, and were told TO STAND DOWN...
But you go on and BELIEVE WHATEVER THE GOVT. WANTS YOU TO, ofcourse according to much of the GOVT. THERE IS NO PROOF OF GLOBAL WARMING...ALIEN SPACE CRAFT...Whatever...And yet VETERAN PILOTS, POLICE OFFICERS...Etc. Have seen SEVERAL UNIDENTIFIABLE Craft(s) in our sky, as well as all over the world, and GLOBAL WARMING...DUH.
We eat up our OZONE, We cut trees, and Pollute our GLOBE, our world with all kinds of TOXINS, Not Just our atmosphere and upper atmosphere...But the ground and ground water, Deforestation...Etc, etc. etc...
but there is NO PROOF THAT IT IS "OUR" FAULT the WORLD is rising in Temperature, or that the POLES are MELTING at an alarming RATE...So if you want to PRAY, more Power to you, But Pray for SOMETHING GOOD, Like The LORD COMMING DOWN AND BEGINNING HIS," 1,000 years of PEACE ON EARTH. Thats a good prayer, or that MANKIND does not Completly Destroy Himself in the next few years, That is Why GOD has to COME back here you know, It is to save us from our own SELF ANNHILATION...
Our Government is very Questionable, about WHAT "TRUTHS", or VERSION OF THE TRUTH THEY ALLOW us to hear.

Interesting. I did to, but didn't find it easy.

It's hard to give everything, even hate, up to Jesus. How do you pray for a monster? It's not easy.

This doesn't seem to be a question about prayer or religion but rather an airing of your political views.
