Concerning the debate going on about intelligent design and evolution: is it possible that the final answer about which of these two seemingly opposite ideas is correct could simply be yes?

With one position firmly held by the believers and the other just as fearlessly defended by the non-believers, if you happen to be in a position somewhere near the middle, it does not look all that complex. From this position, you wonder why either-or has to be the answer.

If you believe that some higher being created the universe by intelligent design, what more elegant and intelligent design could there have been than a self-regulating system that continually checks its own errors and makes its own corrections in mid-stream as an integral part of the process.

This all seems quite logical to me although it probably won’t satisfy the believers because they are afraid to see any truth other than the one they have been told to believe in. Inversely it certainly won’t satisfy the non-believers because it leaves them stuck with a god that they are so obviously terrified of.

To sum up this view from the center, it might be most easily be explained by saying perhaps the designer was intelligent. Problem is, the designer was likely so intelligent that those seeking to prove that it is intelligently designed may be incapable of ever understand it well enough to see it for the elegant self regulating design that it has always been.

The nonbelievers will be similarly handicapped due to the internal terror the have about the idea that there may be a God. Neither side being able to leave their entrenched position for fear they may have to admit they were wrong. While the rest of us stand by trying to figure out what all the fuss is about. Personally I don’t think anyone is wrong, I just feel both sides are about half right.

Evolution is a provable theory and is therefore true. Anyone studying evolution finds a certain randomness rather than design in it. However, faith in God is still possible because we have not yet worked out how it all started. What may on the surface appear to be random events, could actually be events triggered by an Unknowable Designer. In any case, it's a small mind that cannot hold two ideas in it at once.

I don't believe in God and I know that there is evolution.
But you should consider that it is really not necessary to ask the question this way. There is the possibility that there is a God and he created (and still creates) life by evolution. There are many people who believe this. This way faith in God and all the evidence for evolution can be combined. I really don't see why God and evolution should be seen as mutually exclusive.

There is a growing belief among scientists that evolution is a part of the plan of God and His plans of creation for us. Every scientific discovery shows that the enormous amount of data agrees with the formation of life. When God said He thought about creating He also knew how to line things up in an orderly fashion. So beliefing in God and evolution can come together as one continuous growing solving equation. God be with you and Peace. Hope this is a start to your having an answer.

God. And to the person who says that most Christians would say both, I think you have that one wrong. At least, I'd clarify that literal bible believers (like myself), then you CAN'T believe in Evolution.

Romans 1: 20. says... "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:"

This scripture makes it clear that God says that evidence of his creation are everywhere, one only needs to look around. And those that deny what they see will have no excuse when the end comes.

Those that said God is a myth, or insane who believe in Creation, or science vs God need to be updated to something that has always been. There is no way a living cell can have formed from non-intelligent source, ACCORDING TO SCIENCE. Also, if you take a ruler and extend it from earth to the end of the universe, just moving it a twitch to the right or left would throw off our gravity. How could non-intell figure that out(just a picture example) but shows how precise our dimension has to be.
