LimeWire is pretty virus-laden so I would suggest you get out of the habit of using that program. the viruses in that program are horrendous. it's probably telling you that you're offline becuase of a virus or a trojan desguised as a song, and boom, instant virus.
as far as your formatting your computer, you might have to reinstall your Windows XP a couple times to really get rid of a virus. sometimes the virus just stays in your computer or one of your files that you've already downloaded and backed up.
Re-Install XP, and scan your back up drive if you have one and be careful of what you download on LimeWire, they are monitoring who's downloading from that program nowadays

You must have your's somehow linked to the internet, Hm? But, then again, we downloaded ours from online.... Altho, when we first turn on the computer "ours" has its own icon, besides the internet.... Try somehow downloading it to where it gets its own icon..... Then go from there... You know about the right clicks, once you've downloaded the songs? And "Stop Sharing" once their in the library? Well, somehow you definately need to get it, to where its accessible on its own, with its own icon..... Good-Luck, oh "And A Happy New Year To You & Yours!!!" Smile, it'll all work, out.... I just wish I knew someone who knew something about Epson Printers, mine wont turn on right, after I put new ink in it..... But I dont want to lose points asking a question, however, I may end up having too, when I go back to school ... Anyway you have a nice day.....

- It could be that you're behind a firewall. Disable your WinXP firewall and any other firewalls in your software or router. Disabling the firewall is simple, just look it up.
- Your ISP might be detecting that you're using filesharing software and disabling it. It's called traffic shaping. It's more common in major ISPs these days. If you lookup "traffic shaping" and your ISP name you can find out. Not much you can do about it, although with Bittorrent you can encrypt your traffic...see the next point.
- One thing you might want to consider is uninstalling LW and installing LW Pro. You can get LW Pro as a Bittorrent file (if you don't use Bittorrent, it's a million times better than LW) or you can often download LW Pro through LW itself. It's faster and has no spyware.
Good luck.
