I am 32yo, and have this awful sensation in my left leg. I dont have health insurance, so it means a trip to the ER. Which I try to avoid at all costs!! (literally). I have numbness! It feels like about 70% numbness from the knee down to the toes, and from the knee up to my lower back and down to the right leg, about 20%. I have no idea what is causing it, which is the scary part. I dont think it is an emergency, that deems a trip to the ER, but could it be something serious? Any idea guys.....??? Thanks!!

It has been progressively getting worse over the last couple of days. Initially it was mild, then yesterday annoying. This morning it is down right uncomfortable!!

You could have a number of things wrong. It could be a pinched nerve. Or it could be a blood clot cutting off the blood circulation. You should go. They will bill you. Pay even a dollar a month. They can't do anything to you as long as you are trying. It might take a long time to pay but at least if it is something dangerous like a clot, you can get help.

If it is something that is of an IMMEDIATE health concern, the ER will certainly do what it can to stabilize your condition. If they come to the conclusion you need to see a specialist to better diagnose your condition, you are in the same boat. The ER will only stabilize you, and generally will not treat you further.

I'd go to whatever human services agency deals with Medicaid in your state, bite the bullet, and get signed up. They can in some cases make retroactive payments depending on your condition.

For starters, Why not having health insurance means a trip
to the ER? Can't you go to a regular doctor who accepts
cash patients? Can you ask friends and family who they would
recommend?

if you have full function, its possible a sensory nerve impingement in your lower spine. Youre right not an emergent problem, again if you have function. If you lose function, start tripping over stuff etc, get on in.

GO TO THE ER!!!! If you can't pay it all, deal with that later. Bills can be negotiated. But go and get seen now.
