Yeah, she knows I like her, but yeah. Hopefully we can still be friends and maybe it will develop into something more.

You can't help if you fall for a friend or anyone else for that matter. From experience friends can turn into more as over time you get to really now that person and a friend can end up being the best relationship you will ever have

I fell for a guy back in high school (I'm 32 now) who was a really good friend of mine. I didn't tell him until years later after we bumped into each other at university & as it turned out he felt the same way.
I didn't want to ruin our friendship in high school & by the time we were at uni, I was already with someone else. To this day, I still wonder "What if???"

Does a former doc count? One of the hardest crushes I've ever had in my life was over a former doc I had. Mr. Gorgeous! I think we might have been "infatuated" about the same time, but nothing came of it. He was married, I'm no home-wrecker, and docs can't date patients unless they make it EXTREMELY discreet. We're still friends / aquaintances.
