There is more evidence to disprove the existence of God than there is to prove the existence of God.

Arguements please if you disagree with that statement.

He doesn't exist but you can't prove it conclusively - and if you could - fundamentalists wouldn't accept the evidence - anything that contradicts the 'inerrant' bible must be disregarded.

You can't disprove Unicorns, Leprechauns and Dragons but if you don't believe in them you might as well bin the whole God hypothesis, too.

It is the religious who make the claim. Those who refute it don't have to prove anything.

And since natural events and life are better explained by the Big Bang, abiogenesis and evolution, the only way the religious can prove their "god" exists is via their magic tricks. Let's make it easy for them:

1) Cause the water to split between Florida and Cuba so any people who want to leave can. There can be no change in the water temperature, *and* the ocean floor must not move at all. There has to be 200 metre tall walls of liquid water on each side of the path.

2) We find a dead body at a hospital...let's say a car crash victim who was decapitated (the head cut off by the windshield) 24 hours ago (so there's no chance of the person being alive) and the christian can bring the person back to life.

If the religious can do either of those two things NOW, TODAY, in front of my own eyes, they will have sufficiently proved to me that a "god" exists. (Regurgitating 2000 year old fairy tales is not the same.)

If they can't do it, then there is no "god". They have every right to _believe_ there is a "god", to delude themselves, but they have NO right to claim it as being true without such proofs.

God exists in our mind and one we worship is our imagination or belief. Although in our day-to-day life we see miracles happen, these may be some unusual things happening. I'm a hindu and I have many things to say about Gods, even such, forms of Gods lived and left proofs on our Indian landmass. For instance, Lord Rama in Ramayana build a stone bridge connecting Indian continent and srilanka. One might say it's a creek but as it has been mentioned in ancient books, a time when navigation was out of question, it's just true. But God is my only source to live life even if God really doesn't exist.

i'm in simple terms someone with constrained perceptions, in simple terms like anybody else. I have faith God does exist, yet no longer in any anthropomorphic experience that could desire to have the skill to be shown or measured scientifically. This being the main possibly rationalization for the a while old debate, I end that i can not provide any pleasing answer that could desire to cajole you the two way.

There isnt any proof.......man just makes stuff up to quell their fears and provide hope. So dont YOU go shouting out God or Jesus whilst in the throes of passion or pain because that would be blatantly hipocritical and very silly. Try shouting out Santa or Tooth Fairy instead.......why doesnt that have the same impact?

And why do we get the willies when we imagine we see ghosts...real or not real? Sometimes it doesnt really matter that much...feelings are bothersome like that. If we take that the bible is BS (written by men that had a political agenda) why did so many tribes, who never learned to read, believe in Gods...same reason...fear of the unknown....and its something that never really goes away no matter how much you believe in anything or not. Egos need something to hold on to....to make them feel safe when "just" parents cannot do it for them.

If you are so definite that he doesn't exist, why bother asking people to prove him. It seems to me that you are looking for him cos you beleive he exists. You're confused by the looks of things and maybe a trip to your see your local vicar may put you in touch with the one true God.

it depends on one's perception.
the Truth:
two forces governing the whole universe=positive and negative energy. these two coexist to one another. the other can exist without the other. they are alive because they maintain balance. balance=life. human body is composed of these forces as well. if not in balance you get sick and eventually die.

people through faith in life believes those positive force of energies that the're experiencing is a being they call GOD and that of negative is from SATAN. because it is easier to relate through a human-like imagery and personality. (it's like SANTA and GRINCH for kids GOD and SATAN for adults)
when you speak of science theres is nothing you can possibly match the description of a GOD or somewhat. it doesn't exist, but when it speak of beliefs or religion, it is very well existing.
it's just a matter of perception.
One being the real truth and the other is the simly a true statement of one's perception.
WHEN YOU GOT THE REAL TRUTH, YOU DON'T HAVE TO BELIEVE. YOU ALREADY GOT THE ANSWER.

Ok so not everyone believes in god. but his powers still exist. i think u are christian. so just go to church on sunday or something and then try to pray your heart out to god for smthg, a job? a present? a date? something. and it will probably happen.

and u noe why? because u prayed with all your heart. and god didnt come and aid u for that. after that, u would probably try working on the thing u wont, in order to make it happen with the confidence in god. its a psychological thing.

whether god exists or not isnt important. what matters is whether u try ur best to get everything mankind has to offer to u thru god. morals, confidence, anything!

and this is why a LOT of modern people still pray.

God proved His existence by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, who became a man, died on the cross and rose again on the third day and went back to heaven. Jesus while He was on earth told the people that when they see Him they have seen the Father. Jesus' existence in the world is a historical fact. Jesus Christ came as proof of God's existence. It is up to you to believe or not.

You can say that until you're blue in the face, it won't work. Believers don't need proof! That's the sad part of it. Common sense doesn't work either.
Here's the proof god doesn't exist: s/he/it creates the universe, the world, nature all in its incredible beauty and complexity....and then god creates man! what a **** up! Can you believe that an entity capable (they say) of creating all this then went on creating us? Religion is there to reassure the fearful.
