I just got a phone call confirming a reservation for NYE...

...at *the* most expensive hotel in town. I can't believe it. They knew Sophie was barely out of kittenhood, and they still let her make the reservation, using _my_ credit card.

I calmed down a bit and had a talk with her, and she says that's totally normal for cats these days. I'm a little weirded out by the thought of her and her friends hanging out with all sorts of Toms and nip from god-knows-where, but then, she is spayed, and she is in most respects a pretty responsible and mature older kitten. Normally, the extent of her fun (and use of the credit card) is a slight spree in the Petsmart, which I encourage every now and then. You can't keep them as kittens forever.

Anyway, I told her I'd ask here and see what other cats were doing. Is this normal? Should I let her? Should I make her take her brother along? She says I can stop by anytime to check out what's going on and see that she's safe, but I don't know.

Phoebe and Daphne aren't up to parties this year. I suspect that they will play gin-rummy all night.
Oh-oh, they're eyeing my liquor cabinet where I hide their catnip.
Happy Meow Year!

How very cute!! Wish I'd thought up such a scenerio! And, no, I wouldn't make her take her brother - girls need to get away from pesky brothers sometimes. If he gets upset, maybe you can have a little catnip at midnight for him.
As for my cats - they will be in their assigned positions on and about my bed. They'll miss the festivities because they'll go to bed about 9:30. I have to get up at 5:30 to be at work by 7. Hospitals never close ------yawn!

I keep my cat, Horizon indoors on Fourth of July, Halloween and New Years Eve because there are too many loud noises that scare them and there are weird people roaming the streets.

Your cat ought to know that if she can use your credit card :-)

Probably napping for 17 hours, interrupted by 6 or 7 hours of deep sleep. Just like every day.
