if an officer stops you with good cause, he will ask for ur licence, then he will call in on his police radio or if he has a computer in his cruiser will ask central dispatch to run ur licence number and name. he does this to see if there are any outstanding warrents aganst you. if they are none, u may or may not get a ticket for whatever reason u were stopped. if there are outstanding warrents on u u will be arrested. also this is to see if u even have a licence. if they suspect drinking or drugs, u will be given a field soberity test. they will also ask for ur insurance, an regerstation. if they suspect drugs, they will search ur car with a dog or with ur permission, or with a warrent. and this is just the basics. i hope this helps u. god bless

They should say may I see your driver license, registration & proof of insurance. That is for a normal dl ck. If they think you have drugs, guns or something in your veh. They can ask more questions and they can even search your car if they have probable cause

Aside from asking for your license and registration, they will run your driver's license number and your plate. This will tell them if you are wanted, and how many tickets you've had in the last 12 months, and if the plate is registered to the rightful owner, or if its stolen.

just don't have a bullit, cig butt, pipe, cigg paper, matches,or knife in sight, or anything that your 90 yr old granny would have or you could be in for a strip search. I was wearing a cap that says US Army Veteran and the cop started questioning me to find out if i really was a veteran.

They ask for your driver's license and car registration. From there , every scenario is different.
