It is not harmful for you or the kitten if she is just chewing unless it is unpleasant to you. Just make sure it is not being ingested. To stop any behavior which is unpleasant and/or destructive, use a spray bottle with water. One squirt to the kitten during an act that is unwanted will resolve the matter and soon will not be done at any time in the future. It is a humane and well documented treatment. Hope this helps. Have a happy new year.

I got 2 kittens when they were only 5 weeks old. They used to suck on my hair and do the feet thing until they fell asleep. I let them do it because I felt sorry for them, they were only little babies and I felt they were just using me as a mom. Well they are now 11 years old. One grew out of it after a few months, and the other one..... well, he still does it. My hubby warned me, but I didn't listen. lol . Do yourself a favor and break the habit, otherwise you won't be falling asleep until your cat does !! Good luck!

I've known adult cats to chew your hair!
My ex's cat used to walk along the back of the sofa & stop & have a gnaw on my hair!
Not sure if it's right/normal... I assume it's either an affection or grooming thing. Didn't bother me, cause it wasn't all the time.

This is normal. Your kitten is thinking of you as Mom. Does she do the mushy feet along with it? Like little kittens do when they nurse off of mom. My cat does what I call Goober on my clothes. In which he holds a piece of clothing or blanket in his mouth and does the mushy feet. He had done this since he was a baby and he just thinks of me as mom. Of course you need to make sure things are clean.

My cat does the same, and no paintbrush is safe, he even used to pinch my daughters make up brushes, he just has a hair fetish, move him gently away from you hair if you dont like it, you will probably find he likes to chew wool as well, thats pretty common in cats who like hair!

Very normal, as long as she's not eating it and you don't have anything toxic on your hair it's not a problem.
One of my cats still does this and she's 6 years old.

My 8 yr old cat does it too. Don't let her. Just gentlly move her away from your hair. As another person said already, she's grooming you. Kitties are so sweet.
