Any ideas for a cheap weekend away (flight and hotel etc)

praha is expensive now (actually getting there and accom). about £70 for flights, and i recomend the ametyst hotel (£150). very nice. 4* and great service. praha itself is cheap. about £0.70 a pint. nice place to visit in winter (xmas markets, snow, coffee!).
shopping is ok, not many places to go but theres a few malls and designer shops there.
sights, a load! make sure you see them all!!! nice pizzeria near the castle, to the right before the bridge entrance.

A friend and i went last year flights and five days hotel accommodation was £300.Everything in Prague is cheap,we went into one bar and it was happy hour 65P a pint and most of the time its under a Pound.
If i can findout the name of the hotel i'll let you know it was right in the middle of town near the king Charles bridge.

the earlier you book with easyjet the cheaper the flight , stay in a b&b just out of the centre. we did and it only took about 5 - 10 minutes on the underground , which is very cheap and runs every where. if you are in the centre all day , try eating and drinking near your b&B at night its about 1/4 of the price

I recently priced a flight for two from Edinburgh for £114 rtn,
with jet2.com , they do hotels also in Prague and other
destinations. good luck.

I stayed there for two weeks on 80 quid - stay at the hostels in the old olympic village at the top of the hill, collect bottles from bins and take them back to the shop, only ever drink from the beer stands on the street and steal bread rolls for food.
It was the worst holiday I ever had.
