i would like to make purchases online using my check; the problem is i can't seem to find any.

Sign up for Paypal its free and u can use your checking account to purchase online, alot of online stores use paypal.

I recently bought a bag from this singapore company www.sg.be-a-fashionista.com. their customer service was really great - they accepted a check and said I could also pay by bank transfer. best part is their prices are really super!

my store he ha ha no you can connect your account to paypal and use pay pal on most all sites
