I think you'd really like Porcupine Tree. They're a prog. rock band out of England. Steven Wilson is one of the best song writers I've ever heard.

Swedish Metal band Opeth is phenomenal, and their newest album "Ghost Reveries" is their most accessable.

Devin Townsend is a little more local. (Canada eh.) "Ocean Machine: Biomech" is one of the most detailed and complex albums I've heard, musically.

Want good old American metal? Say no to Metallica in favor of the lesser known, but possibly more talented, Atlanta-based Mastodon. Also, Seattle-based Nevermore has really tight, technical guitar work.

Want pretentious musicians that love to show-off how musically gifted they are? Check out Liquid Tension Experiment. They're good and no one knows it better than they do.

supply Def Leppard a danger. they're not as "classic," as a number of the different bands listed, yet they formed very nearly 30 years in the past. they're horribly underrated. they have a good number of serious songs (have self assurance me....do not choose them by Pour some Sugar On Me. As great as that track is...they have extra effective ones). Their guitar gamers are actual remarkable (i do not care what all of us says....Steve Clark wrote a number of the nicely ideal riffs of the 80s, and it takes expertise to play like Phil Collen and Vivian Campbell). i might want to signify giving the albums "extreme n' Dry," and "Slang," a pay interest. also, "Hysteria," for sure. My different 2 favorites are Queen and Aerosmith. Queen is between the most unusual, unique bands ever. Aerosmith....nicely....they merely rock! they have were given a number of the nicely ideal classic songs of all time.

I like punk bands like Green Day, Linkin Park and Good Charlotte. I like Evanescence too for that sort of romantic gothic sound. It's actually quite good to seduce a girl.
