Are they:

Honest, truthful, feeling, concerned about the people they report on?

or are they

Just a buch of muck raking, money grabbing glory seeking gouls. who don't give a dam about anybody but themselves.

Has anyone had a bad/good experience with them?

The above are NOT my views.

I have nothing but contempt for the 'gutter press.' The lowest form of reporting is for a journalist to say to a 'subject' 'if you don't give me a story I'm going to publish one anyway.' Quotes are taken out of context & people are misrepresented in the interests of 'a good headline/story.' We, the readers/viewers are responsible too, 'cause if we didn't buy the papers/watch the TV reports editors would stop publishing them. I am always delighted when a paper is successfully sued for damages. Of course, not all journalists are like this & there has to be a place for responsible, unsensational reporting.

Hi. Look, I know some great journalists. However, I do believe that the general impression of journalists can be likened to that of tow-away trucks or ambulance-chasing lawyers. They tend to do just about anything to get the story. What really ticks me off is mis-representation in the rush to be the first with a story.

My opinion? Some good, some bad - but when they are bad, they are HORRID. What I hate most is the endless succession of stories about so called 'celebs' - as an experiment, I would like to declare a compulsory week of 'celeb free' newpapers - wouldn't that be a challenge?

they are complete smart asses. They like to stir up trouble, and then hide behind their constitutional right to freedom of press.
Just because something is legallly permissable doesn't mean it is morally permissable
