WHOOPS! I just noticed that this was posted in Laptops&Notebooks. This is going to be more difficult. The Battery or Switches to clear BIOS are going to vary model to model, so you will need to consult a manual for your model. Some are located under the keyboard, which you may need help to remove, while others are located under some ofthe access panels on the bottom of the system. Check out this link: they also mention a utility that could possibly work, which would remedy opening the system - which may be a warranty issue for you.

If you look on the motherboard, there should be a jumper attached to board that says Clear CMOS or something similar. Usually, you remove the jumper from pins 1&2 and place it on pins 2&3 for a set period of time (20-30 seconds) to clear CMOS/BIOS.

If you aren't comfortable with this, I suggest calling a professional, as they would be able to do it a few minutes.

A. with the aid of making use of the Motherboard Jumper: In maximum motherboards CMOS battery is soldered, which makes it confusing to eliminate the battery. for that reason we use yet another technique. virtually all motherboards comprise a jumper that can clean all CMOS settings alongside with the BIOS password. the region of this jumper varies based upon the motherboard kind. you ought to study your motherboard handbook to learn its region. in case you do not have the handbook then seem for the jumpers close to the CMOS battery. extremely some the producer label the jumper as CLR, clean, clean CMOS, etc. once you detect the jumper, seem carefully. there will be 3 pins and the jumper would be starting to be a member of the middle pin to the two left or suitable pin. What you're able to desire to do, is take away the jumper and connect the middle pin to the alternative pin. e.g. if the jumper joins center pin to left pin, then eliminate it and connect center pin to suitable pin. Now anticipate some seconds and then back eliminate the jumper and connect the middle pin to left pin. be sure you tutor the laptop off in the past beginning the cabinet and resetting the jumper. B. with the aid of making use of application: I even have got here across that BIOS/CMOS Password restoration gadget is the main effective.: BIOS/CMOS Password restoration gadget is a software that works promptly to eliminate any lost or forgotten BIOS/CMOS password. merely boot your laptop to DOS and execute this technique, and get get admission to to forgotten BIOS/CMOS passwords in merely seconds

Hi,
The problem can be solved with a little manual effort from your part.

You would have to open your CPU and take out the battery or rather disconnect the battery. I recommend you take help of an experienced technician.

You can configure your settings and assign a new password.

You can then fix the battery again and bingo! its all normal.

Note: Removal and insertion of battey should be done when the PC is switched off.

There is a flat battery on your mother board, that battery gets charged each time you turn on your computer and when your computer is off, that battery would keep time and date correct and also that will keep your setup information (including your mother board's setup password) you can open your case, and remove that battery, wait for a few minutes and replace it and turn on the computer, that password would be gone but you need to make all the changes in your setup again

Attention: ALL THE SETTINGS IN SETUP WOULD BE ERASED!!
